In response to ICE’s recent murder of Alex Pretti, conservatives assert now that you have a right to protest, but said right may not be exercised simultaneously with the right to keep and bear arms.
Government is thrilled to hear this. The next time conservatives bring firearms to a protest (depicted is Operation Gridlock in Lansing, MI, around April 15th, 2020, a protest against C0VID lockdowns), government will be authorized to overfly the protesters and indiscriminately strafe them from Apaches!
Though Conservative, Inc. (or is it OINK?) may struggle to walk AND chew gum at the same time, thankfully the U.S. Constitution can multitask. At any given time, multiple constitutional rights apply to us, and that because they are not “rights” so much as prohibitions on government and its actions.
If there is any silver lining to the tragedy of Alex Pretti, let it be the realization that mere exercise of the Second Amendment does not preclude exercise of the First, Fourth, Eighth or any others!
